Conditions and clinical questions
This overview covers coronary assessment, structural-heart care, cardiac surgery and selected catheter-based technologies such as PFA, TAVR and RDN. A named technology is not automatically suitable for a particular diagnosis.
What the medical team usually reviews
Assessment may include symptoms, electrocardiography, echocardiography, CT or angiographic imaging, anatomy, kidney function, current medicines, prior procedures and overall procedural risk. Complex decisions may require a multidisciplinary heart team.
Information that may be requested
The receiving team may request recent cardiology notes, ECGs, echocardiograms, CT or angiography files, laboratory results, medication and allergy lists, device information and previous procedure reports through an agreed secure channel.
Cross-border planning
Travel timing should account for clinical stability, antiplatelet or anticoagulant management, pre-procedure testing, observation after treatment, access to urgent care and a written follow-up plan before returning home.
Risks, limits and uncertainty
Cardiac procedures can involve bleeding, vascular injury, arrhythmia, stroke, kidney injury, infection or the need for additional treatment. Exact risks and alternatives depend on the patient and procedure and must be discussed with the treating clinicians.
